There is no greater insight into the future than recognizing…when we save our children, we save ourselves. ~Margaret Mead
I think we have to save ourselves and then our children will be saved. What do we need to save ourselves from?
Inertia
Procrastination
Poor health habits
Apathy
You get the idea.
The world is going to be changed by me and you. Nobody is coming to rescue us! That's one reason I signed up to go to The World Domination Summit, with Chris Guillebeau and his unconventional and adventurous tribe.
Changing the world isn't easy, in order to so we need to first change ourselves. When we change, we perceive the world differently, as if it has changed.

I love this! I will print this list off and put it on my bulletin board. I love “Get some incredible things going on.” That makes life so fun and it can be quite exciting to get up in the morning!

Betsy,
You’ve got that right and we can choose those incredible things anytime we wish. That’s what’s so amazing! Have a great weekend.
Betsy,
To think we have that choice everyday…incredible things! I’ve got it going on and I’m happy you are joining me. Thanks for being here today!
This is a great list Tess. Thanks so much for sharing this. Could you please explain #95. Follow the Golden Rule.

Andrea,
The Golden Rule is “do unto to others as you would have them do unto you.”
That simple;)
Tess,
Am I ever impressed! How did you come up with all of this juicy stuff? I’m going to use some for my daily mantras. Thanks! Fran
Hi Fran,
My life has been built around personal growth. I have a master’s degree in counseling psych and have been writing on these topics forever. I’ve slowly incorporated many of these in my life. But don’t get me wrong I’m far from perfect and fall back all the time. Part of being human;)
Hi Tess….
Sitting in my journal is a piece I wrote about #18: Surrender relentless ambition and struggle.
It is my own relentless pursuit of something undefined, a drive with no clear purpose. I’m about to revisit what I wrote and lift it from the pages of my journal to share with the rest of the Universe. Because I have found a new sense of peace and contentment by releasing the relentless…

Peggy,
My ego love’s relentless striving and ambition. I feel like I fight it all the time. Easy to get caught up with our online biz and marketing, eh? I want fun and adventure with family too much so I pull myself out of it often. Love your story today.
Tess,
Much richness here. Thank you. Most of these could serve as prompts for self-reflection/journal writing, too.
I might add (though this is reflected in several):
102. Accept and love all of who you are in this moment.
Also
103. Be as kind as possible, as often as you can.
104. Make love to the present moment.

Angela,
Yes I know that some are the same said in different ways. Those are the ones we need to hear more than once! Thanks for stopping by.
Tess!
First off – very cool!! –> your going to the World Domination Summit! Now you’ve got me thinking about that!!
And what a great list – we have the power to be the change we want to see in this world! That starts with us! Love this!!
Lance´s last post…I Think It’s Time You Got Fired!
One of the reasons I stopped watching news was because I believe we should fill our minds with positive things and not even open it up to negative, bad, ugly, or the likes of not good.
So I read good things (your blog is a recent find and I love it) and do my best to practice thinking on the positive side all the time. This list is wonderful. 100 things that one could fill the mind with. Seems like a lot but when the studies say we have something like 60,000 thoughts per day and for many most of them are negative… I think this list should be the first thing to imprint in as many people’s minds as possible.
Mahalo for the list!

Hi Tess,
That is the best 101 things I have read all day:)
Thank you so much for your ever inspiring lists…they are so much more meaningful than my typical “to do” list that is filled with sometimes tedious tasks!
I think I will print your list out and add a few daily to my “TO DO” list, as a reminder that entertwined in the daily necessary work it is vital to add energy, momentum, positivity, and fun to them….
I love that fact that this all “begins with us.” Thanks for that reminder. I have been reflecting upon that sentiment in other ways as we approach 9/11, and that PEACE also begins with the individual….
Have a wonderful weekend.
In Harmony,
Jen

Hi Tess,
Amazing list. I know right where I’m going to place it once I print it out. Your words inspire us all to reach higher and touch the stars! I’m sending this back to you – You could make this into a book!!
Hugs!!

Love the list Tess! As a caregiver, I’d like to add ‘accept yourself can’t be strong all the time’ and ‘never be too shy to ask for help or support’.
Wow!
Tess, you always amaze me.
What a fabulous list of tips.
I especially loved: Listen to your heart; listen to your intuition; laugh at yourself; hang out with happy people – and so many others too.
Thank you. I’m going to save this on my desktop!

thanks for your viewpoint and this amazing list. great food for thought!
Wise words, well said. My favorite, today at least, is “Believe in infinite possibilities for yourself.” The beauty of your list is that I will find yet another favorite tomorrow, and another the day after that, and another, and another. Thank you.

Tess, simple, thought provoking, insightful, wisdom laced, and inspiring list of the bold and beautiful changes to life that can put smiles on our face and a spring in our hearts. OOO! Idea here!
I’m going to cut up the list into individual points and each day pick one out of a hat.
I always want to do everything at once so I think your “One step at a time” point triggered this thought.
Awesome list Tess!
What a cool idea, Chris! This one is worth sharing around.
Hi Tess, it’s been a long time, but I’m so glad to be back in the blogosphere again! I have had to learn (or perhaps relearn) some important lessons about gratitude again. not that I haven’t had it, just that it’s so easy to forget how crucial it is to our lives and to the people we come into contact with. Great list, my friend. Hope you’re well!
Bryan Thompson´s last post…How do you Pick Yourself Up When You’ve just Struck Out?
Tess, brilliant, as always!
Staying calm in uncertainty was my test earlier this month. I had friends who helped keep me calmer than I was able to be on my own. Thank GOD I have such good friends!
xoxo
Megan,
Yes thank God for friends. It’s lonely and unfun without them:)
I love this list! I will be hanging this on my wall at work, and at home. I am a firm believer that we receive what we give – how rich would I be if I could practice even one half of this list? Love it….
