Living in the present moment richness and awareness to our lives, yet we choose to live in the future or the past most of the time.

Instead of telling you how to live in and experience the "magic of this moment" I invite you to examine your own moments and increase them exponentially.

Below is my experience of living in the magic of the present moment.

When I live in the present moment I am joy in expression.

When I live in the present moment I avoid worry about the future.

When I live in the present moment I enjoy the taste of one sweet red raspberry.

When I live in the present moment I am grateful and appreciative.

When I live in the present moment I am peaceful and calm.

When I live in the present moment I lose all sense of time.

When I live in the present moment there is no story about conflict or fear.

When I live in the present moment I feel Spirit all around me.

When I live in the present moment nature becomes breath taking.

When I live in the present moment my intuition is loud and clear.

When I live in the present moment I can only love and feel loved.

When I live in the present moment I hear my soul sing.

When I live in the present moment no task is too daunting.

When I live in the present moment every cell in my body awakens.

When I live in the present moment I understand the mysetery of life.

When I live in the present moment my heart breaks open.

When I live in the present moment my mind is quiet.

When I live in the present moment I am at my best.

When I live in the present moment light dispels all darkness.

When I live in the present moment I am happy, joyful and free.

When I live in the present moment doors of opportunity swing open on their hinges with the momentum of unlimited opportunities.

When I live in the present moment I am creating the amazing person I was born to be and the awesome life I was meant to live.

Together, let's decide today that we will just "be" in the present moment.

What does present moment living do for you?

One sweet, red raspberry. I remember those moments. My sisters and I picking raspberries on hot summers days. Do I dare say, Juicy moments? :-) I like the line, “when I live in the present moment my heart breaks open”. To me that illustrates being in the moment that is so fresh that there are no barriers or boundaries. The moment stands alone.

Right now I’m enjoying moments of sipping a fresh cup of coffee.

    Oh Tess,
Beautiful. Breathtakingly beautiful. And so so true. Living in the present moment is how I choose to live.
I will share this little snippet with you. This morning I went to my comfort beach. Gloriously warm sunny morning. I embraced each moment separately. I felt the sand, I waded in the water as I felt the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze and the coolness of the water on my feet and legs. The moon was still visible so I breathed in the Energy from the moon…and so forth….Time stood still, and I realized with great clarity “I am all that I seek”. I am the power of the moon, the warmth of the sun, the joy in the surfers hearts, the elegance of the harbor seal playing in the water, the peace in the waves gently caressing the beach, the strength of the last rock at the end of the jetty always the one the waves break upon, the innocence of the baby on the blanket, the grace of the ocean…I am, you are, we are..all that we seek…
That is what I experience when I live in the present moment.

Oh Tess, now you are also a lyrical tornado with blowing those words from my screen into my consciousness.
Now you make me think I am always present when I am doing the things I love. When I go to the garden and decide what to pick for lunch or dinner I am totally there with my awe for nature and how abundant it provides for us.
When I spin and feel that soft Alpaca wool sliding through my fingers I am totally there with my amazement how nature works.
When I swim in the river and I feel the fresh water rushing over my body, where else would I rather be than there so I am the experience.
Tess, the present moments are indeed where to be, and I am present to your gift right now, thanks oh bold one, xox Wilma

    Tess,
For me, this post really touches on what the moments of life, when truly experienced, feel like. You have captured this so well!
When I live in the present moment, I am more aware of each of my senses.
When I live in the present moment, I am much less distracted by outside influences.
When I live n the present moment, I feel the soft spring grass between my toes.

Tess, thank YOU!! This reminder is so good – for me to just stay IN those moments of my day…

Living in the present moment as been my saving grace. I used to be high anxiety and stress. Now I bring myself back to the wonderful present and everything feels good again.

The present moment is my favorite anchor. There are still times I get worked up, but that’s when I do a little Yoga and meditation to bring myself back to feeling relaxed and happy.

    Beautiful post.

One of the simplest and hardest things we can do is eat in the present. It’s strange but most of us think about food at all times except when we are actually eating. It takes some practice to eat mindfully, aware of taste and texture and smell and color, but it’s an amazing experience.

    Hi Tess

What a BOLD photo! I love it!!!!

What I love most about living in the present moment is avoiding and releasing worry (as you pointed out as well). That is the ultimate for me about present moment living. If one can keep it up (which one can) it really makes it possible to live worry free :)

And yes enjoying meals properly and another person’s company and the smell of the air, flowers and life!!! Today in fact I cannot imagine NOT living in the present moment most of the time.

    Hi Tess!

Beautiful. Gosh, I keep ’saying’ how important it is to live in the present…but I also gotta say that it takes the commitment to being consciously “awake” to your life…in order to be present! I’m reading a great book (thanks to Oprah) called “Women Food and God,” and it’s all about being present to what’s happening in our lives. So this theme is a big one for me these days.

When I live in the present moment, I am fully–and unequivocally–me. And that feels phenomenal!

Thanks for asking the question and for sharing your insight with us. Enjoy your day…full of conscious presence!

Jannie Funster 05.05.10 at 7:44 am

Dear dear Tess, I think this is your most beautiful list yet. It fairly makes my heart sing with joy. I want to read it again and again!! In fact, I want to do with it what I did with your affirmations list a couple weeks ago — record the list on my digital device, and listen back and back to it, time and again.

    Thak you, dear lady!

In this present moment I am happy to be your friend.

When I live in the moment, there is no fear of the past or of the future.

Time doesn’t exist. Only the present and what I’m doing at that moment exists. It’s very hard to do, but with practice we can always summon those feelings when we live in the moment.

I quite like your list, too.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Hi Tess,

What a wonderful list! I think this is my favorite one:

“When I live in the present moment my intuition is loud and clear.”

It’s amazing how clear our inner guidance, gut feelings, etc. can be when thoughts about the past or the future are not clouding our minds. Life just seems to flow in the right direction without a lot of effort.

I think I’ve mentioned this here before, but the best way I’ve found to live in the present is by meditating daily. I’ve been doing this for most of the past couple of years and my life is so much better as a result.

    Tess -

I love your reasons – poetic, wise and practical. When I live in the present moment, I am at my best – that is the one that resonates with me most. It is so true – keeping the endless replays of the past and the imponderables of the future at bay and just reveling in the now. Aaaah – perfect.
