When is the last time you asked yourself, "What if I succeed?"
We have a way of taking our fears and blowing them out of proportion. We often think and expect the worst. We stop ourselves with negative questions.
What if things don't work out? What if I don't get the job? What if I fail? What if the answer is no?
One way to change your negative state of mind is to ask positive questions.
What if I succeed? What if I get the job? What if my book becomes a best seller? What if I can make a living online?
When you ask the right questions, it's easier to imagine a positive future. Watch the video below and discover how someone finished his manuscript by putting himself in a place of action.

Tess,
Great post. You’re right — if you re-frame your questioning in this way, it opens up your mind to being available to access possible outcomes that are inspiring, forward-moving, and productive. Right on! Thanks for this great message.

Victor,
It expands our possibilities and opens up a whole new world. Thanks for your support and kind words.
This brings back memories of my consulting days, sitting in my boss’s office at the end of my contract, and marveling at how good saying “no” felt. With each “what if we …” he threw at me so I would stay, I said “no”. Because in truth I was saying ‘yes, yes, yes,” to being me.

Wonderful post Tess. The fear of success can so often hold people back from all that they can be. Thank you!

Cathy,
Yes, I like to day it doesn’t happen to me but I still fear success at times. Thanks for your support!
Great video Tess! It’s an inspiring reminder to be relentless in choosing the positive. I’m going to use this technique. Thank you!
Hi Martine,
Thanks! I do think if we really understood the power of our negative thoughts we’d be a lot more vigilant! Thanks for stopping by.
OK Tess – I used my ‘what if’ in a positive voice this week when I was asked about my fees for a speaking date – I didn’t negotiate the rate from ‘what if I don’t get the gig?’ Rather – I assumed that of course I’ll get the gig – knowing that this group will get their money’s worth and more by hiring me…and yes, I see myself at the podium…xxoo-Fran
Fran,
Good for you! I’m holding your vision at the podium. They’d be blessed to have you:)
