                           Happy Valentine's Day!

I asked some blogging friends to say a few words about love today.

Also my friend, Barrie Davenport, is re-launching her fabulous course Discover Your Passion: A Step-By-Step Course for Creating the Life of Your Dreams. See below!

In 1997 I experienced the most incredible love I’d ever felt when an aunt who’d passed away “appeared” to me in the middle of the night. It was not an “earthly” love, but a love that was so “alive and palpable” that it enveloped me and permeated every fiber of my being. It was so pure that no words could even begin to describe it. The one thing I was able to capture about it was that this love was totally unconditional and free of judgment. I understood that I was loved simply because I existed as a conscious being.

From that day forward I realized that our only purpose in this life is to learn to love others like that. I make every effort to do that every day – and every day I commit to try again – as I’ve yet to come close.

When we choose to love ourselves “as is”, we are not settling, instead we are letting ourselves be enough. Self love can help us become more, can touch those closest to us, those in our immediate vicinity, even strangers can be impacted by it. Self love rubs off on our world and can bring ease, softness and light to our family, our community, our life and our world. From self love, all other love is possible.

My thoughts on love:
  • Loving someone else means finding more happiness in their happiness than your own.
  • Each day is a chance to show someone that you love them.
  • Love is helping others reach new heights.
  • Love is more important than the most delicious sandwich you've ever eaten.
  • Love guides our actions more than we can ever know.

Love has many expressions: love for a child, a sibling, a parent, a friend. Love for country, for the earth, for an animal, for God and the universe and, of course, romantic and erotic love.

Love is not just a feeling or an emotion. Love is an act. When we love, our actions or inaction serve the highest good for the person, animal, or thing that we love. Actions and inaction that cause hurt or pain—whether we believe they should or not—do not arise from love. Love is infinite and eternal.

When times are tough, remember love.

There is no love; there are only proof’s of love. ~ Pierre Reverdy

Over time I think it’s easy for partner’s to take each other for granted. So do little things for your partner to make their day a little brighter. Actions speak louder than words, so remember love and continue to show little proofs of your love everyday. Here are a few ideas:

  • Say I love you.
  • Hand write love notes and leave them in unexpected places.
  • Hug and snuggle more often.
  • Send love notes via email, twitter or Facebook.
  • Surprise your partner with a home cooked meal.
  • Make coffee or tea in the morning.
  • Plan a date night.
  • Go for a walk, bike ride or run together.

We only get one life. Use it well. Stress less, embrace happiness and show your love with actions and words.

Love is a flourishing garden. Those people who think that the grass is greener in someone else's pasture, probably aren't tending to their own.

~ Lauren Love Bomb

REAL Love is something that is always given in spite of you, never earned.

~Annabelle Candy Get In The Hot Spot

Love binds people of all ages and nationalities together and makes the world whole. Only when you start learning to love yourself can you begin to share your love with other people. The more love you send out the more you'll get back. Without love life would be empty and hopeless. Love makes life full of joy and gives it meaning. That's why we all need it and love it.

It’s time to discover your passion.
