Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change And behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeated.-Helen Keller

Get To Know Me

When I think of bold three words come to mind, resilient, strong and capable. I was born with a bold unstoppable spirit and a great enthusiasm for life. I was number six in family of ten children. Our family owned an eighty eight acre produce farm where we all worked beginning at age five. Seven days a week, you could find us either in the fields working or at the farmer's market selling our produce. The work ethic I gained was a gift that would help me survive in the future. I married when I was seventeen and pregnant and proceeded to have four little girls by the time I was twenty-two years old. We learned how to take consistent bold action in order to survive. In the beginning while raising the children my husband and I always had an extra job or two in order to keep our heads above water financially. We were young and full of energy. We learned to get up early and burn the midnight oil. When I was twenty-four I began a flower business working from home. I wanted an increased income to allow for more adventures and experiences for my kids. My fariming experience gave me the background I needed. When the twins started kindergarden I also went back to school part time and graduated nine and half years later with my bachelors degree. At twenty-seven my husband and I began therapy for help with both our children and our marriage. This was a major turning point in our lives. We learned how to deepen our love for each other and how to become a loving family.  At the same time I fell in love with the process of healing and decided to get a master's degree in counseling psychology. After graduating I worked in an out patient rehab center. My work involved counseling at a prison. In the beginning I was terrified. I had to learn how to be fearless in the face of the unknown. My clients were anyone whose crime involved drugs and alcohol. Doing this work helped me build courage, tanacity and resilience. After two years I knew if I could show up and do this work I could take the same energy and wisdom and grow a private practice. So I did. I also began speaking professionally and self-published a book, "Flying By The Seat Of My Soul."  Today I offer it as a gift to you today in the form of an E-book. For fun our family spent a lot of time in nature. We all learned to cross country ski and the girls were always involved in sports. My decision to quit smoking and become a runner was another turning point.. My husband joined me running 10K races on weekends. And a few times we ran the 25K (fifteen and a half miles) held in our city every June. The girls did the fun runs and some 5K's. Today Kristy, one of the twins participates in triathlons and I continue to run five days per week. While the girls were growing up we dreamt of moving someday to the South West. In Michigan the weather was cold and the skies were gray nine months of the year. We hungered for sunny blue skies. We never let go of our dream and six years ago purchased a home in Arizona where today I live with my husband of 37 years. Our continuous bold action to make good things happen is why we have been so successful. Currently I work as an affordable coach. I started The Bold Life because I wanted to share the knowledge and power of bold living. We all make choices in our lives that either hold us back or keep us growing forward. We all have the opportunity to take bold action and make our dreams happen. I believe in today's world we can't afford to stay stuck in fear or hold back. I believe anyone can think, feel and act boldy in order to make thier lives and our world a better place to live for everyone. I believe everyone can own their resilience, strength and step out of their comfort zone. I believe we all have unlimited and untapped energy that allows us to live above limitation, and fear. I will challenge you to set your sights high, take more chances and be more than you ever thought possible. I invite you to think bold, feel bold and act bold…and live your dream! Are You Ready For A Bold Life? Being bold means taking responsibility for your dreams. Being bold means making bold choices. Being bold means thinking big. Being bold means making an impact. Being bold means taking risks. Being bold means refusing to be confined. Being bold means making a difference. Being bold is taking action. Being bold means never hiding who you are. Being bold means seeing the big picture. Being bold means allowing fear to motivate you. Being bold means living without excuses. Dare to live the bold life! Please contact me for more information.

    Tess,

I am speechless. Which is strange for me. It is a pleasure to meet you and I can identify with the work ethics as a child. I was tearing lettuce in the kitchen of our restaurant around 3.
The thing I took away from my childhood was not only the work ethics but a constant feeling of being on display.

This left me with an insecurity of being accepted for myself. I power dived into making a career and didn’t make it an easy ride for myself. Seriously focusing on performance and achievements and setting pleasures aside.
Now life has turned around and there are only fragment of the old me. I need to step back – slow down. It was me that needed to change.

I am very bold and adventurous. I always want to overcome my fear of any type.

I believe that being adventurous means always challenging death. Being adventurous means hoping for the best but ready for the worst. Being adventorous means never being dependent on any body, that’s why I believe the strongest man is the one who always stands alone without expecting someone’s support.

    Ajay.

    Heya Tess,
Just found your blog through your post of Dragos’s blog :)
Very interesting to read your life story, you have certainly had an enormous adventure! Love your latest post about the gemstone, stories like that always make me think that there is so much more in giving rather than personal financial gain from hoarding and collecting.

    Keep up the great work
