Hi Elle,

Your words echo my own experiences with anxiety and panic attacks, all of a sudden cropping up in my life and then manifesting in other ways, notably as extreme worry and doubt. I find it really interesting when you speak about being a naturally happy person but also someone who has experienced times of panic and uncertainty, i often think about this paradox in myself and wonder if there is a connection between feeling extreme anxiety and in some way using it as a springboard to undertake a period of life-changing growth and renewal, an idea i find really exciting, albeit daunting.
Thank you for sharing your story and allowing your really magical moments to shine through! They are inspiring.

Hi Elle,

I love, love, love the way you write! It's so refreshing, so not-lecturing. Thank you! I focus on working with women that have SO many reasons to worry (widows) and I feel so inspired by your way of moving from worrier to wonderful in such a down to earth, doable, unpretentious, real and joyful way.

Thank you again!

Elle, your post is so honest and clear. I admire your vulnerability.

Breathing really helps me to slow thoughts of worry. I remind myself that all I need to do right now is breath. Even that, I don't have to do because my body is doing it for me. I slow myself down and focus on breathing - even when I feel like I'm running out of air. ESPECIALLY then:-)

Hello Tess, hello Elle !
I recall in one of your past articles you wrote that everything can be distilled down to either Love or fear. And thus, I have to believe that those panic attacks were not Love based. However, your overwhelming consciousness of "having a natural state of happiness" certainly gave you the Light to see your way out. The techniques you used are certainly preferable to medication and are real-life tested ! Thank you for those !
Write on, Elle !

I love your insight Susan...we definitely only have so many hours in our day...and we all have the same number of them, I wonder how many still waste bunches of those hours focused on all the stuff they don't want. Took me a while back when I was younger...but boy am I glad I did take 'the power' out of worry. :-)

I think your assumption is perfect Vidya. Never expect what you don't want! Funnily enough and paradoxically throughout it all I've always been an optimist too. Maybe that's one of the reasons I was able to move into a better space fairly quickly. Something in my programmed belief system led me to have the experience, which became a pathway for spiritual growth and expansion.

Today, I'm more likely to grow through joy. A much more pleasant experience!

Nice point and so true that we become what we focus on the most, just as Carey Grant said, he played his character so often that he became him. :-)

Wow Brian, I never thought of it in quite those terms...funny how we can't always see ourselves as others see us...probably because we're just in the middle of it all. Wish I'd had you in my corner back in those somewhat darker days! Your words inspire me to reach ever higher in my spiritual expansion. Thank you. :-)

It is amazing how our minds are trained to worry...thanks for sharing how we can better train our minds to focus on what we want...I love the way you take the "Power" out of worrying. We are given so much time in our day to enjoy our life...or not...it is always our choice...not someone else's.
