Hi Tess,

Like Jenn, I love the photo! Very nice.

And it is obvious to me by looking at the pictures that you have your priorities straight. In my opinion, Facebook and Twitter are fine in small doses. But a little bit goes a long way. I know I would choose horseback riding over Twitter!

Basically, my attitude is to just focus on what brings the most happiness and fulfillment in a given moment. And it seems like this is exactly what you did.

Tess, I love the entrance photo, and what a lovely idea to do that word choice! I tend to put up visual imagery which helps me capture what I most want to embrace in my life. Similar idea though, and words are powerful. I find quotes to be this for me! Just enough to ponder throughout the day ..

I found I had to let a lot of networking go to honor my values.. and time prioritization.. now I am down to two emails, fb, one main blog and that's all ;)
*I let go of twitter, and linkedn and other experimental ones after I knew it wasn't working for me.. also myspace, and old emails and old blogspots which served their season well. lol.. really, I did clean house though! :) it felt great!
"sometimes being out of balance with the world, is just what we need to find the beautiful well and create reserves within." ;) and to come out refreshed and leave an impact back on the world with what they are missing out on ! ;) it seems to me you are doing just that ;) and this is so lovely!
Plus, I'd go easy on yourself.. because
I think it takes awhile to find our rhythm and just enough outlets but not too much by letting go of what doesn't "until it feels just right!" ;) ...

I think it is more important to feel centered and to do fun things like you shared in the photo above, it speaks of substance and LIFE! ;)
btw, I love the olive tree and the LOVE sign photo :)

I'd rather use the online if it is a community tool other than a status quo. ;) hugs to you today! ~Jenn

Hi Tess! The ten days with your daughter and grandkids sounds fabulous!! And the pictures are awesome--it is so fun to get a glimpse into your life! I really like your line in the beginning of the post: "My life is out of balance in a good way"--it is funny how on paper we can delineate all our priorities and even map out the appropriate amount of time we will give each priority to make it soar--but then in real life, our actions scream out for what we really want--fun, connection, family, exploring, nature, and the like...In times like these, I always think to myself, well, FB and Twitter aren't going anywhere...Keep having fun and telling us all about it!

Hey there Tess!

Don't worry, I am always failing at Twitter. In fact, I think I've given up on it completely. It looks like you've got a good excuse to skipping out though ;) I find myself never wanting to go on the computer after work and therefore I am slacking in many departments when it comes to social networking and my blog. You keep doing what you're doing and I'm pretty sure you will have no regrets!

I also must say how much I love your scrabble pieces and flowers. Such a fun idea :)

It took me a while to get here, but get here I finally did. I have had this post starred in my reader for at least a week now, but I wanted to be able to sit and savor. And I'm so glad I waited, because this was savory.

I loved everything about this post and truthfully cannot add a damn thing to it. (So why am I commenting?) Maybe I just want to say how happy I am for you and this "unbalanced" balance you've laid hold of and claim to. Bravo you, Tess. Bravo, you! And thank you for sharing this joy with us.

Will definitely look forward to the more posts and pictures so tantalizingly promised. :)

Hi Tess! Life really should be too full (yours is, mine is!) to worry about social networks. I know they are there - I know they can help some people launch stuff out there - but really, seriously, who has time with a full life?! I vote for LIFE - the real deal. And don't use the "f" word! :)

Hey Tes!

Wow! Where do I make time for all that blogging requires? Good question!

I keep myself on a pretty full schedule every day. I wake up the same time evry day, work approximately the same amount of hours and get home pretty close to the same time. Once home I eat by a certain time. After eating I will do blogging stuff for about an hour or so. Then I work out and then back to blogging stuff until close to bed time. That is my typical M-F schedule. Also, during the day, any time I get a few minutes, I'll hit the computer and do some things too.

Doing it all does require a lot of time, but I still love it. Like you, I love my family deeply and value time with them above all else. I think this is absolutely essential for a happy life. Without family and their love, the rest of it doesnt matter. :-)
