A dream doesn't have to be a foggy vision we vaguely remember; it can be a tangible point in which we strive and push for. The problem I see in today's society is that fewer and fewer people want to strive and work for what they truly desire; they would much prefer take the easy route: have it given to them or just not do it.

Personally, being able to fulfill a personal dream of playing various kinds of music (jazz, funk, classical, etc.) for both recreation and freelance work gives me a great satisfaction that I can work on and enjoy something that I have spent years working on. And I cherish the fact that this is something that I will never be able to master, so that push will continue on.

I hope that more folks take to heart what they are shorting themselves on and find the right catalyst to push them toward their dreams.

Patricia,
You go! Dream big and make up for lost time.

Consistent action is extremely powerful - and positive action can work for us or against us.

Consistent Action Used Against Us

- When we overeat consistently we gain weight.
- When we don't exercise consistently we lose energy (and a toned body).
- When we don't rest and recharge we are overcome with anxiety and stress.

Consistent Action Working for Us

- When we eat healthy foods we maintain a healthy body weight.
- When we exercise we feel energized and strong.
- When we take care of our bodies we feel balanced and optimistic.

Consistent action will create results that will literally astound you in your career, relationships, hobbies and goals - whatever they may be.

My youngest child and my husband always get what they want - always!
As I have freed myself from my critics and figured out what I want, wow the sky is the limit! I used to say "I never remember my dreams", now I think I am not dreaming big enough...life is better and living it is so much more fun!

Good and emboldening post!

Hey, Tess,

This is the main principle of The Law of Attraction (I've written about it in my blog). It generally states that you attract in your life whatever attracts your thoughts and emotions - no matter positive or negative.

I am a fan of this law and I have experienced it times and times again. Only when I know what I want and when I'm certain that I'll get it, I really get what I wished for. Also, when I have a bad day, it doesn't change until I change my thoughts to positive.

Thanks for the great article!

1. Define your Dreams: Yupp, I've done that.
2. Overcome Uncertainty: I'm working on this. I believe in my skills, know what I can do, and know how I want to get there, but patience isn't one of my virtues. Plus, so much of what I'm doing is fairly new to me, and I don't know too many people. Sometimes I feel like a fish out of water. The book would really help here.
3. Wake up Happy: Yupp, I do this. In fact, I truly love what I do, and I hope that love comes out in my words and pictures.

What are you willing to make your dreams come true? Oh yeah, Baby!!

What today seems impossible? Going to my 9-5 job to keep the lights on, so to speak.

What holds you back or propels you forward? I hold myself back, and I propel myself forward. It's up to me to get the job done, so do it I will................:)

Thanks for the great post, Tess. I'm lovin' where my dreams are going.

What makes my dreams come true is educating myself to do well in my field. And uniquely. And saying fie on the naysayers -- usually the biggest naysayer is me. So I trounce my own buttocks and stay out of my dreams' way.

What has held me back is having not putting my nose to the grindstone 2 good hours a day. Fear of expanding my comfort zone too. I still have little fears but as I develop my chops, they are much less.

What propels me forward now are my little successes. I CAN do this music thang!!
