8 Things Happy People Know About Life

Happy people appreciate each day. They know that life is lived in the present moment.

I’ve spent the last two weeks enjoying my family. My six-year-old grandson came to visit last week. He’s a super sweet and determined little guy.

We swam, hiked, visited the zoo and went to the train park. Laughter and squeals of delight filled our days. Snacks, bedtime stories, hugs and kisses filled our evenings.

The day after Henri left my granddaughter, Mackenzie arrived. We shared music, fun times and long talks. We rode horses and spent two days in Sedona.

I spent very little time online. More than once I had to remind myself that we won’t be here forever.

Life is short and love means taking time to connect with and appreciate the people we love. It’s time to live each day like it’s our last.

Today is the best day of your life

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Reach out for new opportunities and richer experiences. Don’t wait for someday. Tell your loved ones how you feel. Take action toward your goals and dreams. Shut off your electronics. Get out in nature.

Use your gifts and time to serve others. Have a glorious love affair with life. Seize every single moment.

Let people know that you care

Those whom we most love are often the most alien to us.
~ Christopher Paolini

The richness of your life depends on the quality of your relationships. Invest your time and energy into what matters the most.

Give away the love you want to receive. Judge less. Stop expecting everyone to be perfect. Forgive often. Create good times. Express gratitude and appreciation. It’s all about love; everything else is secondary.

Create

Try a thing you haven’t done three times. Once to get over the fear of doing it. Twice to learn how to do it. And a third to figure out whether you like it or not. ~ Virgil Thomson

You are an all-powerful creator. You are an inventor. Be original. Don’t be afraid to begin. Paint. Write. Dance. Sing. Add value. Show your talent to the world. Allow yourself to be seen.

Don’t wait for perfection, there is no such thing.

Prioritize

How did it get so late so soon? ~ Dr. Seuss

Make the most of your time. Make a to-do list. Don’t put things off because they’re difficult. Do your most important tasks first. Avoid distractions. Stay focused. You’ll feel happy about life. You’ll sleep better at night.

Simplify

Sometimes our stop-doing list needs to be bigger than our to-do list. ~ Patti Digh

Let go of what no longer serves you. Say “Yes” to what you do want. Learn to be frugal. Live with less. Replace bad habits with good ones. Let go of control. Get help for an addiction. Get out of your own way. Relax and enjoy each day.

Be a go-giver

You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you. ~ John Bunyan

Focus on contributing to and adding value to the lives of others. If you want help, be helpful. If you want love, be a loving person. If you want to be trusted, learn to trust others. Give what you want to receive.

Throw out your score card. When you do good, you’ll feel good.

Be brave

You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, and find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this. ~ Henry David Thoreau

Live the life you want to have.

Do wish for what you don’t have. Go after what you want! Take risks. Expect failure. Don’t wait until someday to embrace the attitude that your best life is lived today.

Now is your time. Breathe it all in. Be present for every moment.

Please help me share the happiness on social media. I appreciate your help!
