Overcoming Your Fear Using Boldness and Courage

Fear and being stuck or courage and taking bold action are choices that drive the decisions of our lives.

When you choose fear over courage you hold back from the beautiful opportunities that you have to use your talents and make a difference in the world.

It’s vital that you don’t hold back.

People need what you have to offer. The universe is counting on you to deliver the goods. You have a responsibility to the human species to do your part.

Life is like a puzzle. All the pieces fit gloriously together and create one amazing picture. When you pull back from doing your part, a piece of the puzzle is missing.

If you don’t embrace fear and commit to action, the puzzle will never be complete. You’ll drown in self-pity, envy and boredom. You’ll die a slow death, unable to breathe.

You become the living dead.

If you are paralyzed by fear you have to do something different. You have to get out of your comfort zone or continue to suffer. You have to take a risk or take your gifts with you to the grave.

What are you so frightened of? Not being smart enough? Failure? Rejection? Allowing yourself to be seen and heard?

Don’t think you’re alone for one minute. Everyone is afraid.

Most of our fears are ego-based. They keep us separate from each other. They keep us feeling less than, guilty, shamed, disconnected, isolated and alone.

Be aware of how fear plays out in your life.

Fear happens in myriad ways: making excuses, procrastinating, lying, complaining, avoiding and ignoring are all ego-based fears that hold us back.

Fear isn’t bad.  Fear is a compass that shows us the direction we need to take. You’ll be afraid before a major breakthrough or major transition in life.

Fear is a forerunner of growth.

On the other side of fear is your treasure, your passion and your gifts.

When I got married – fear.

When I joined Toastmasters – fear.

When we moved from Michigan to Arizona – fear.

When I started TBL – fear.

When I begin a new project – fear.

When I’m in social situations – fear.

Before I launch a new offering – fear.

There isn’t anyone who lives life without fear.  However, there are a lot of people who react to fear in a positive and healthy way.

You can too.

Own and face fear. Get in the arena.  Heart pound. Palms sweat. Take a chance. Skin a knee. Take a few blows.

Stumble. Fall down. Fail. Fall. Fail. Rise again. Feel alive!

Welcome failure and imperfections. Grab your potential by the tail and run with it.

Embrace life. Create. Hold yourself accountable. Be a change-maker.

Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life. ~ John Lennon

There are infinite possibilities if you’re willing.

In order to make your dreams a reality you must take consistent action.

Let’s not wait for the right moment or time. Let’s risk now. Let’s invent incredible things. Let’s blow people away.

Let’s be endlessly and ridiculously generous with our talent.

In spite of our trembling hearts and shaky voices, let’s do it now.

In spite of our uncertainty and fear, let’s do it now.

It’s time to make the world a better place. It’s time to step up with your piece of the puzzle. It’s the perfect fit for the job! Please help me spread fearless living on Twitter and Facebook!

“People need what you have to offer. The universe is counting on you to deliver the goods. You have a responsibility to the human species to do your part. ”

    Exactly, Tess!

People need us and it’s a waste if you don;t help them just because we are holding back. Yeah, it seems easier to say to ask others to not hold back. Yet, I find that when I wake up and think about how I’m responsible to help others, it would be easy for me to get more things done that day.

Thanks for your endless encouragement Tess! “In spite of uncertainty and fear, let’s do it now!” It helps to remember that there are so many of us who do this each day!!!
