What You Need to Know to Become Fully Alive

fully alive

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have become alive. ~ Howard Thurman

Too many of us have accepted fear, doubt, routine and mediocrity as common ways of being.

Know that it doesn’t have to be this way and it’s up to you to change it. What would your world look and feel like if you courageously committed to choosing the thoughts and taking the actions that manifested in more energy, vitality and aliveness?

One thing I’m focusing on this year is connecting more to other people, both online and off (with emphasis on off)! I want to approach new ideas, experiences and opportunities with a sense of adventure, exploration and faith.

I want to increase my courage and take more risks. When we want something different, we have to do something different.

In January, I decided to commit to attending more social events. I miss the face-to-face laughter, real hugs and eye to eye conversations. I miss the energy, smells and voice tone that one doesn’t gain in texting.

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Celebrate Your Life conference. I found three new friends, Fiona Childs, Heather McCloskey and Patricia Love.

Last week, I spent the day at a Women Entrepreneurs' Small Business Boot Camp with my new friend Danielle Watson

fully alive

I’m going to watch my daughter Kristy, run The Boston Marathon in April and I’ve already purchased my ticket for The World Domination Summit in Portland this summer. Let the fun and connections continue!

My life is magnificent. My choices and commitment have made it so. I only want to feel and live fully alive.

If you're looking to feeling alive but don't know where to begin, these ideas may be helpful:

Uncover your truth. What makes your juices flow?  Get passionate about who you are today. Invite the best into your life right now.

Get over it. You’re responsible for your life. Release everyone that you’ve been holding hostage. With present-moment awareness plan your magnificent future.

Chase it.  Experience more joy. Lighten up and have fun. Find people who are going your way.

Create. Make something with your hands. Bake bread. Dig a garden. Build a tree house. Paint a room.

Be bold. Have the courage to find the good in what you have and the opportunities in every challenge.

Fall in love. First with yourself and then others. Become an expression of love. Act out of love. Be the love you want from others. Love will find you.

Choose well. Don't express fear; choose love. Don't act out of anger; live compassionately. Don't sit in sadness, discover joy. Give yourself permission to live fully. No one can do this for you. You have the power and the unlimited opportunities. Begin now.

Drop your routine. Replace a new habit with an old one. You only need to take small steps on a new path to shake things up. Soon you'll be leaping!

Engage in life. Reach out and connect to the people who inspire you. Be open to those who reach out to you. Expand your circle.

The world is waiting for your complete participation. Give yourself to life. Be fully alive!

Hello Tess! So you’re running the Boston Marathon? That means you’ll be in my neck of the woods. How long are you staying in the area? Would be so awesome to finally meet you :-)
