Love Is A Choice: Create More Today

Create Your Love LIfe

Love is everywhere. If you don’t have enough love in your life, you may be looking for love in all the wrong places.

We are either in a fearful state or a loving state at all times. These are the only two emotions. All other emotions are derivatives of love or fear. When I am unhappy, sad, moody, or hurt , I am living in fear. If I am feeling free, amazing, peaceful, grateful or alive, I am living in a state of love.

If you want more love, become a more loving person. Love attracts love.

If you want love, be more giving.

If you want love, open your heart to receive.

If you want love, be more loving.

Become the love that you seek and love will surround and enfold you.

The following statements will help you recognize which state you’re in, love or fear.

My fearful self competes with you. My loving self is amazed by you.

My fearful self criticizes you. My loving self blesses you.

My fearful self wrongs you. My loving self forgives you.

My fearful self wants it all. My loving self has all it needs.

My fearful self is super busy. My loving self sits in stillness.

My fearful self is hungry. My loving self is full.

My fearful self is discontent. My loving self knows joy.

My fearful self believes in separation. My loving self sees unity.

My fearful self is childish. My loving self is kind.

My fearful self judges you. My loving self accepts you.

My fearful self sees a half-empty glass. My loving self sees the glass overflowing.

My fearful self is desperate. My loving self is calm.

My fearful self wants to complain. My loving self wants to praise.

My fearful self wants to condemn you. My loving self wants to help you.

My fearful self has an agenda. My loving self has a purpose.

My fearful self is deceitful. My loving self is transparent.

My fearful self keeps score. My loving self keeps peace.

My fearful self is in the future. My loving self is savoring now.

My fearful self shuts down. My loving receives.

My fearful self is an expert. My loving self is open-minded.

My fearful self is unworthy. My loving self is delightful.

My fearful self is complicated. My loving self is easy-going.

My fearful self fears the future. My loving self believes the best is yet to come.

Each moment is an opportunity to choose love over fear. When we make the wrong choice, we can choose again. It's all about love. Choose love today!

Your statement “love attracts love” says it all. I think that is so true. Be good and be loving and you’ll attract good loving people into your life. This is a great list of ways to counteract the fearful self.

What a super list Tess. I’m pinning it onto my fridge just to remind me to check where I am.

    Love Elle

That list is awesome Tess and yes we do in each moment have the opportunity to choose love over fear. I think you should make that a poster people can have in front of them. I was stopped at a couple as today I wrote in the sand move into joy as I was this morning choosing anger and discontent as things were not going as I had planned 🙂

Tess, I’ve heard this concept many times. We all know it. “Be the love.” Broad concept. But what you did here with these concrete fear vs love statements is BRILLIANT! This rocked my world today. I am hanging these statements up at home and at work to remind myself of these powerful reminders that doubly serve as immediate perspective shifters. BRILLIANT!

Great list here, Tess. You’ve given some perfect examples of Love vs. Fear that we can use as reminders. Wonderful list to keep and check back. Take care.

As others have said, this is a wonderful list. I must admit I have a few of the fear-based thoughts kicking around in my brain right now. It’s amazing to discover how much I want to hang on to some of them even when I become aware that’s how I’m thinking. Thanks for the opportunity for this moment of reflection.

    Tess,
I always love your posts and always want to print them out! I love the fearful and the loving self compared side by side. A great list!!

Oh, I can resonate with this one: “My fearful self is super busy. My loving self sits in stillness.” I see more and more how fear creeps into one’s life, but I am intent on choosing love! Thank you for showing us all the ways fear can pull us away.

    Tess,

As usual, awesome post. Sometimes I wonder how equipped many people are for giving and receiving love. It often seems that we as human beings are becoming more and more disconnected from each other as our world progresses. Very few people seem genuinely happy, or in contact with their core values.

But there is hope, and your post is a call to everybody to self-reflect and open themselves to love, and other joyful, positive experiences.

    Thanks!
    Chris
