z tiny buddha Tiny Buddha Book Review and 2 Giveaways

Lori Deschene is a young person with a big and wise heart. Her new book is moving, creative, and insightful.

I laughed, I cried, I dog-eared and highlighted my way through it over the weekend. I'm going to put it on my night stand to reread and enjoy again, a bit at a time.

Lori's online journey began when she opened a Twitter account, @TinyBuddha, 2008, and began posting quotes on wisdom. Today she has more than 200,000 followers.

She developed her blog Tiny Buddha in 2009 in order to grow a community where anyone can send in their personal stories about everyday wisdom and life.

Woven through the book, Tiny Buddha, Simple Wisdom for Life's Hard Questions is a collection of the hard questions about life that Lori asks her community of followers, on Twitter, and their incredible responses.

Lori also shares her own thoughts on life's difficult questions, engages us in her personal struggles, and profound wisdom throughout, along with the wisdom of other great masters.

After each chapter, Lori suggests action-oriented steps that will help you experience love, peace, and happiness regardless of what is going on in your life or the world.

There is no fluff. Lori states, "I'm not a fan of vague, flowery, New Age jargon, I've gone to great effort to keep this book practical and rooted in reality."

If you are struggling with the hard questions in life about pain, meaning, change, fate, happiness, love, money or control get a copy of Lori's book, take notes, do your homework and jump into the flow of life.

I would suggest you buy one copy and gift yourself. Get another copy and gift a friend.

Know that you don't ever have to struggle alone. There's a Tiny Buddha community that welcomes and invites you to join them in learning, loving, and growing together.

Lori offers a life-changing opportunity to a digital world. I'm honored to be a part of it and hope you jump on board as well!

I'm have two copies of Lori's book to give away. If you want to be eligible to win please leave a comment below, tweet this review or share on Facebook.

Yes she is sooo insightful. She mentions the titles of many books I’ve never heard of. I think she must read 24/7 and when she isn’t…she’s writing.

Honestly, many people do not have the ability to take a step back and analyze a situation because they are caught up in their own head. I frequent the Tiny Buddha website every so often, it allows me to think about the situation and question if i have had any control in it. If not, i just let it go and chalk it up to the statement “it just had to happen” and keep on with my life. Being able to tell others about this book, if i am lucky enough to win, would give me the chance to teach this to others and increase my understanding of patience and acceptance. Thanks for this opportunity.

I recently found the Tiny Buddah…and have passed it on to my family when I find something particularily inspirational. This past week has been chock full of delicious insights and wisdom that i needed to hear to either move on from something that wasn’t serving me or knowing (as I tell clients) that this too shall pass. I sure would love to have the book at home so that I can reference it when I need and share w/ visitors and/or clients.

    thanks

Oh, I love, love, love Lori’s Tiny Buddha newsletters. The thing that struck me most at first, was Lori’s courage! Unlike a lot of others out there, she didn’t claim to have it all together. She was always RIGHT THERE WITH US, making mistakes, learning and growing, listening to her heart, practicing, be mindful. I loved it (and still do)! Her courage to do things this way makes her more real to me. Makes the journey THAT…a journey that never ends. The joy IS in the journey. I would love to have a copy of her book! I would keep it next to my bed to read every night to have the wisdom of her words spinning around in my dreams! xoxoxo!!!

I started reading/following TinyBuddha a couple of months ago. I didn’t realize there was a book, so thanks for the heads up. Maybe someday I’ll be able to add it to my collection of books I keep around to help me deal with anxiety/negativity, and simply to relax.

“Know that you don’t ever have to struggle alone.” I think this itself is a key piece of wisdom. I’m working toward becoming a psychiatric/mental health nurse because I want to help more people understand this very thing: that there’s always hope, and that reaching out to someone else can help us access it.

I’ve been reading Tiny Buddha emails for many months now (they pop one into my inbox every day)… It’s been inspiring me everyday, the stories written by real people, who have experienced the ups and downs, and as I recognise with some of the emotions that they write about, pieces of peace take root and I try better everyday…

If her blog posts are anything to go by this will be a wonderful read to spark a 2012 to remember (especially if I win one *wink wink*). Thanks for sharing this Tess, you always come up trumps!!
