Vibrational Marketing…Won't You Join Me?

I was tempted to buy into a program that a certain guru was selling a couple of weeks ago. My ego was convinced I needed it…

I contacted my friend Evita at Evolving Beings and asked her what she thought of such promotions. She told me her marketing is plan is different than most. She believes if she has the right energy and speaks her Truth the right people will come to her. (paraphrased)

I only needed to be reminded of this and I hit the delete button. The guru's know how to suck us in with their slick temptations. "There are only so many spots left. There is only so much time."

My heart and Higher Self know this marketing isn't the Truth. I believe I have everything I need today in this moment. I don't have to do anything in fear. I am safe.

My friend Joy at Unfolding Your Path reminds us, "To open our heart to all that is already there. Answers waiting to be heard, blessings waiting to be embraced, signs waiting to be seen. They are all there. We don't have to struggle, resist, manipulate…just allow.

Jan from "Awake is Good" leaves on Joy's blog, "One step, one layer of peeling back at a time. This is perhaps one of the things I love the most about the Sacred ~ an innate intelligence that “knows” just what we need when ~ and the tools and resources are provided for us to navigate ~ if we know how to listen and trust.

My problem is when I'm coming from fear I'm not willing to listen and trust. And that's where many of us get hooked into to slick marketing.

Because of my wonderful blogging community I don't have to get sucked in. My friends are there to support me!

Simon from Simon Hay,states, "I want to attract clients with honest and simplicity. That speaks to me as Truth! There is no "now or never, today only or you can't get this information anywhere else."

I would only add love to the invitation.

What Simon is talking about is "Vibrational Marketing."

With Vibrational Marketing there is no need for slick packaging, hype, hooking or robbing people. There is no "Secret!"

Vibrational Marketing is about attraction not promotion. It's about joining with others, it's beyond personalities.

It's wanting the best for me and the best for you. We are one.

I want friends and clients to come to me through love, simplicity and honesty not strategizing, hype, planning and figuring things out, not doing things….but doing things differently.

Daily the intention I set every morning is to be loving. It's the first think on my to-do-list. When I do this all else flows. When I forget I get sucked in to the chocolate dangling on the stick (carrots won't do)!

What my friends remind me of are the following.

1) I am enough. I have enough. I do enough.

2) I only need to live in a consciousness of love and all is well.

3) When I live from a loving state I become irresistible and the right people will find me.

4) There is nothing to fear.

5) I only need to focus on the Truth.

6) I only need to join with you.

7) No matter what happens I only need to focus on my intention.

8) My mental and spiritual activity is what draws you to me.

The way we have been living isn't working for us anymore. We are in the process of creating a new way of being and living.

I believe in next stage this is the only marketing we need. How about you?

If this resonates with you, I invite you to be part of my tribe, sign up for my RSS feed, I want to join with you on a loving and collaborative adventure!

I really love this post, Tess! I have never been drawn in by overly pushy or sales-y people. I smell them coming from a mile away, and run in the other direction! I resonate tremendously with what Evita said, and what you said at the end. For me, the question is whether or not I have a vibrational match with someone or something. Even books! There are some books that have been touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread / must read today! If I pick it up, though, and don’t instantly feel a connection, I put it down. Maybe in a few months or years, I will, but at that moment, it’s not for me.

You will LOVE the Dooley CDs based on what you wrote here. Wow… I can’t wait for you to listen to them!

    Hi Tess

This post put a HUGE smile on my face. I so feel it Tess, I so feel it….

It is so easy indeed to get sucked into or trapped by so much of the hype today, especially when it comes to Internet marketing. Everyone claims they have the “SEO secrets” or they have the package to make your site take off, or an income to earn you, etc….

But what is the basis for all of this? It is the old paradigm, of scarcity, of separation, of me against you. Can we all win? Yes, we can – and this is what many people don’t realize.

Many think that if reader A comes to your site, then that surely must mean that reader A will therefore not come to my site. And there is the competition again for the most readers, traffic, etc. But we have to realize that there are over 7 billion people in this world, and they do not all want information provided to them in the same way.

This is where I so support vibrational marketing. Those who resonate with my material will find me. And what is even crazier, they may be the same ones that find you. And that is all okay. There are enough people to go around and enough ways to say what we need to say or do, to resonate with just the right people.

The age of conning people into buying or doing something, or forcing them is coming to an end. Just taking a look at the average commercial reminds me of the old world that is slipping away.

Your number #1 is right on – we are enough, we have enough and we are whole just as we are.

This was so awesome Tess and what a loving pleasure to have you as a friend. My support and love is always here for you :)

    Yes, yes, yes, Tess.

I read the same “You gotta have this now — don’t wait,” messages and sometimes they get uncomfortably close to convincing me. I hear you! But, good for you for hitting the delete button. You’re right! You don’t need it.

Your vibes made it to me — and I’m on board!

    Caroline,
Your beautiful photography is all you need include good energy and loving thoughts as you click away and clients will be lining up at your blog! xo

    Jay,
Yes when we build our dreams with a loving consciousness and give our ego a sleeping pill they will come. There are celebrities that build their dreams without this and it can’t be sustained because they’re missing this foundation. We won’t mention any names…we’ll just hold their highest vision for them until they can see it themselves.

    Megan,
Thanks so much for all your help and joy. I understand what you mean about books and all else for that matter. I’m connecting with spirit before I make a purchase so I know I’m on track. Also if I ask for guidance concerning what I need I’ll get an answer even through a human angel like you;) xo

    Evita,
You bring out the best in me. I’m here for you as well. Both as a counselor and coach I refer clients that aren’t a fit for me to other people I know will be. When we’re concerned with only helping and being of service we wouldn’t do it any other way. That’s so cool that we may and do probably help the same people. One very important affirmation I picked up along the way is “nobody can take my good from me.” It’s impossible. I love you!

    Lori,
I may be calling on you the next time I’m tempted. I only need to remember my ego’s voice speaks the loudest. And that’s what screaming at me at those times. You’re a great friend and thanks for telling me you find it tempting as well. Honesty will get us everywhere. xo

    Irresistable Yoo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo…

Dear Tess, you prove yet again you are the stuff of love.

This post cost you less than the marketers’ fees, but ultimately will earn you far more.

The other day I started a poem. Or maybe it’s finished… Here’s what I wrote.

They will tell you “do not give. Sell!
But in giving you are truly happy.
And money will always be there.

Pretty deep poem, eh? The last line could be more poetic.

    :)

I think it ties in a bit to this post, tho.

I like your loving attitude! I loved a lotta housework organization this morning. The windows loved having the old broken blinds off and the sun shining in. The cat loves it too!

    I have what I need.

I still want a great camera, but I’m working to make it happen.

    All is aligned.

    The day is lovely.

Well done, Tess. I love you. Whether we’re talking about marketing, religion, personal development, and my favourite thorn in the side, self help, it’s only that! It’s become the way we move our lips without listening or making a difference in the world. We have to show without telling in complete transparency.

It’s not our lifestyle that has to change it’s us. Once we change, our lifestyle, community, and social responsibility evolves. You can’t hold it back. In so-called spiritual circles ascended masters and archangels have become ‘media celebrities’. When we see that we’re the creating force we will call on our family and friends to fulfil this role. This is why I see Jesus the man and not Jesus the ascended master. His guidance is different and not better than my uncle Harry’s.

I know I’ve drifted off topic; it’s the way spirit teaches me. I visit, read something interesting, and I’m away. There’s always a residue frequency of doubt that accompanies change, so there’s a testing period that’s created. So in this case, vibrational marketing, there may be a period of feeling like it’s not ‘working’ (that’s an analogy). This will create frustration, worry, and fear, but those feelings are amplified not created. They’re already present. The poor old ego mind will get a beat up. Supposedly this is what causes us to feel or act (I’m not going to say this way. What way? A bad way?). Seriously, we’re in a war with this beast!

Maybe this beast is like having a conscience, be it an unusually reactive conscience. We know hard sell marketing and hard living is uncomfortable, and yet we follow the herd. We need to turn off the follow response. I don’t follow spirit, I stand with spirit, and surprisingly, they enjoy my company. They love you too. No matter who or what you is. It’s like there’s nothing to fix. Once we’re there the fixing just happens.

Love you Tess. You smell good too.

@Evita. Awesome comment! You really are something special. I think we need Evita in a bottle. Wake up, spray that baby on, and change the world.

Tess, I am SO with you on this. I, too, have nearly fallen prey to the big guru marketers, but I’ve stayed faithful to my strategy of speaking what I know to be true and “speaking from the heart” and it does seem to work. What I listened to when I considered these guys is how MY body felt when I read their stuff, and it made me feel all squirmy inside. So I have to honor that and affirm that I am not a vibrational match with them. I know that you and I are … and so many kindred others. We are finding each other. Yay! Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes says we are “the tribe of the Sacred Heart” and I believe that.

So I will definitely sign up for your feed and ride into sweet sunsets of heart-filled success with you. (I appreciate the blurb and the link here, too. You are dear…) xo

    Thank you for this, Tess.
It’s exciting to be in the midst of all this change that is happening. The old paradigms simply don’t work anymore. People, not just bloggers, are waking up and tossing the old shoes that just don’t fit anymore. I believe this in the way the Oscar Grant verdict did not incite a huge riot. I see it in the chain stores that are closing, as people are rejecting the haughty I’ve-got-what-you-want attitude of big companies.
Trust in ourselves, in being and having enough, is changing the rules and the game. Or at least I’m hopeful that’s the case. No harm in hoping for good things, I think.

    Hi Tess,
Oh how I love your posts! In my new business, my business partner and I have made the conscious decision to market in this way. It’s funny, when we try to explain this approach we are generally met with blank stares, and yet every now and then we meet someone who totally gets it, and that’s the kind of client we want. We want to deliver service with truth, honesty, integrity, and a passion to give our best to achieve the best outcome. I completely agree with you, we can’t keep doing what we’ve been doing. It’s time for a new direction. I’m so glad that your blogging friends have helped you to keep to your truth, and I want you to know that you give the same back to all of us, so thanks, as always, thanks.

    Hey Tess,

Beautifully spoken and this post is perfect timing for me. I’ve noticed certain synchonicities that been leaving me trails in light of my new circumstances and it also showed me some marketing material to buy from some guru’s. I almost bought into it and then realised I knew all those things already. I know all that I need to do and don’t need a product to tell me how to do it. I was sucked in.

I’ve never been a fan of those marketing techniques myself. My gut has told me to stay away from doing all of that and so far I have. It’s wonderful to see other people thinking along the same lines as what I’ve been feeling. I didn’t need reassurance but when it’s there it is comforting! :-)

Oh yes, Tess. I’ve been tempted by gurus a number of times. And the thing I’ve noticed these days is gurus are getting pretty slick, using techniques to make us think they’re coming from a heart-centered place, yet the message underneath is still the same: only I can give you what you need, it’s very rare and precious, there’s not enough to go around, and if you don’t buy what I’m offering then there’s something wrong with you. Aaach! I try to keep my distance (kind of hard in this online world when you’re a counselor and a coach) and focus instead on doing my work as well as I possibly can and being of service. I still believe that is what ultimately attracts people. So I love everything you say about marketing. And I already am one of your tribe!

    Hi Tess,
Butterflies and glitter to you my friend:)
What strength and support we have within our community…an amazing blessing…
I took (and still take) the wisdom that each person within our community shares..and I am using that to build *my life*. Not my business, but my life. My life is reaching to others, all of my needs are taken care of as I embrace my Truth…any struggle comes from me when I do not embrace the creative ways that the Universe addresses my needs..
You are the enthusiastically bold one..so enthusiastically, boldly embrace your Truth and all of the rest will unfold exactly as it is meant to…
So much wisdom in the comments as well..I would just add..we are all in this together…our niches may differ…but we are all together..so let us soar together…it is not us versus them..it is us drawing to ‘us’ peace, joy, love, creativity, passion..I am in the land of bliss this week, so let my vibrations raise yours…and then we will raise another…and we will *all* be there…
    Awe-some Tess…awe-some indeed!

    Belinda,
Stick with Simon, Evita and I we’re not hoping we’re believin and taking massive steps to get others on board as well. Join our tribe and there’ll be no doubt left in your mind.

    Patti,
Thanks…yeah! I already new you were really…I just couldn’t help putting that invite at the end. I heard a while back the only people making money on coaching are the ones selling shi__ to the coaches telling them how to do it.
Well you can fool some of the people some of the time…

Huge difference between you and those coaches. I love your style and your sincerity to your continuous education and clients comes out loud and clear. If I can ever help you with anything let me know.

    Joy,
I absolutely agree with you and that’s why I wanted you to be a regular on my blog. I new you were just beginning your new blog and I thought it would help you. And if I can help you in any other way let me know. Peace and Bliss out!

    Jannie,
That is so poetic and true…the loving moment. Do I hear a song coming on? I left you a big comment today. You really help me let go of my stats and crap a while back. Besides anytime I’m low I come to your blog and laugh. I’m at the airport eating donuts and drinking beer…wish you were here. Nicely written … I try to understand people who use different “techniques of influence” to sell something. They are doing what they believe, as I am. I think they are mistaken, they think that I make mistake… 😀

But it is true that there are many people who try to influence, or rather, manipulate people to sell something. Of course, marketing is complex, and I agree with some principles of it. However, I see no purpose in the fact that someone is trying to scare me in order to make that his product will eliminate the fear. Sometimes it crosses the boundaries of “moral” persuasion. 😉

There is a principle that I find interesting, I first read it on the blog of Markus Frind, CEO of Plentyoffish.com… Word is, viral marketing. If you ask 10 people at some point in the day, will they would use your product and 6 of them or more say yes then it will be highly viral. That is why sites like Facebook are so popular… :)

Great post, Tess! I’ve always felt uncomfortable with all that slick, pushy marketing, “We are awesome and you can be too!” It never felt right and has always put me off any business idea. I’ve no idea what I want to do, the last few months I’ve been following a path that has unfolded, reading the signs left to me by the universe and I’ve still not idea where I’m going, but at least trying to do what feels good. So good to read that there are so many others that feel as I do…

Who was it that said, “Build it and they will come”? I don’t really remember, but it’s something that I’ve tried to keep in mind as Cass and I nurture what was started with Trottersville.

This also goes for us and our relationships. There are many many MANY folks who pass us by because… well, I’m not sure why. Perhaps there’s nothing about us that sparks a need for connection in them? However, those that gravitate to us are the ones who want to be, and we gravitate to them. It seems like such a dopey thing to say, but that’s what truly happens, and it’s the most natural thing in the world. It’s real and it’s unforced, and all we need is to be open and a little patient. :)

Dearest Tess. YES, we need to pay attention to our heart and what we feel is right. But I also can understand the fear and the confusion.
I am taking a mini holiday and my ego screams you cannot do that, you lose touch with what is happening, your fiends will forget you.
Well, what does that say what my ego thinks about my friends?
Oh Tess, there is a whole different way to do things we are not yet prone to. But it is coming, we can work together based on Love and there is more out there than we know and think to support us in our purpose.
I love what Simon says, pay attention to whom walks the talk and I love how you are aware of those moments when you are not. THAT is where the gold lies, paying attention.
You are a champ, and the more you dare to say how it is for you, the more we all dare to share too and then we really support each other by our honesty.
It is not easy to totally change your way of thinking and being and doing things, it is scary as there is no proof and nobody to tell you you are doing the right thing. However as we are noticing, this blogging community is just awesome. We will get to do things differently, we will become the change we want to see, together. Much love to you and all the others who are putting their energy out there, xox Wilma

Hi Tess – I love a lot of what you and Evita have to say. But I can’t lie and pretend that I believe that “give out the right vibrations and the right people” will come to you is a good marketing solution. Anyone who relies on doing so as their only marketing activity will probably starve to death.

I do believe that we have the power to attract the right people into our lives and the right situations but there is a lot of doing involved also.

At the same time – I wouldn’t pay a fortune for some slick new marketing course. You can learn so much about marketing from books and just doing. And it doesn’t have to be tacky. The main thing is to have a marketing plan, actively do the marketing and test and measure, to see what is bringing you the best results. But a lot of people don’t do it.

Now a networking group, or a tribe, like the one you’re mentioning is always good but it shouldn’t be your only marketing activity. The only problem I have with some of these new tribes that I’ve come across online is that they can alienate important contacts – even the contacts members already had before they joined the tribe.

    Marko,
It’s a matter of what works for an individual. We all have to find our own way and do what works for us. One of my pet peeves is when some sell dvd’s or cds and say there’s only 34 left and the reality is they can go and make more and they do. Scarcity no longer works for me. Everything i need is available to me when I need it.

    Dorthy,
Just keep doing what your doing follow your heart, gut and listen for guidance. You’ll figure it out as you go along we all do. There will be a time when the bigger picture will become clearer and you’ll make a plan right for you.

    Hillary,
Yes I am doing just that. Thanks and have a great week!

    Peggy,
I do know what you’re up too and I wish you the best. I think every thing you are doing is building and expanding. I wish you the best and look forward to hearing all about it.

    Tony,
I’ve never fit in and decided it’s OK to stand out or stand alone. I only know I need to do what’s right for me today. It’s what works for me.

    Kieth,
We each know what we need to do. This is what works at this time for me. I appreciate you coming by and joining us. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

    Tammy,
    I love it!

    Brenda,
Thanks so much that means a lot to me. I agree we need to honor ourselves where ever we are. Even the slick dudes I can love them and honor what they do. It’s just not for me. I’m slowly learning to trust more. Thanks again for stopping by.

    Wilma,
Beautiful…we will do things differently we will make the change together. Amazingly simple but powerful. I love ya more!

    Cath,
I agree we need to DO and Test and Do…but this can be done with honesty and integrity. I respect your input and am so happy you let me know how you feel. I also agree with the alienation part. In fact I emailed a friend and asked her opinon on the last few sentences and if they were exlusive. I think it a risk to be who you are at the same time I accept rather than judge those who are doing it differently. When you are true to yourself you always risk losing people. If it weren’t the case everyone would be themselves. Also you risk losing sales. One has to let that go as well…This is new for me…I’m learning as I go. Thanks so much for letting me know how you feel.

You are right on the money here as they say and I resonate so closely with what you have written here. and this “My problem is when I’m coming from fear I’m not willing to listen and trust. And that’s where many of us get hooked into to slick marketing.”
How true is this and I could beat myself up for the times I didn’t listen to my heart. I know know that when I allow, when I believe in the me that others see as you say with what your friends remind you of that you do, be and have……life falls into place and I am working on that right now for me – feel so insync
Yes I have already joined this tribe
    Love and hugs

I need a friend like Evita to watch my back as well…….I always end up buying into the logic of the promoting guru, and usually have an eBook or piece of Junk Software that was promoted as being “The Next Big Thing”

Hi Tess – I hope you don’t think I was judging you. I could have avoided commenting at all, or told you I thought it was a great idea. But I wouldn’t have been doing you any favours.

Doing no marketing activities at all and just expecting folk to find you is unlikely to work for anyone. And a networking group is good but it shouldn’t be your only marketing activity. To me, letting folk believe that it is, is no more genuine than some of the “guru” type books you mention.

    Tess,

It is amazing that how much stuff that we think we need, actually is not needed. I am glad you have supportive friends to steer you away from unwanted and un-needed stuff, they all seem so wise like you.

I like the 7 reminders at the end. Nicely put!

Thanks for making me feel better as I too have not thought of marketing of blog, I am just writing from heart and see how it flows.

It’s about creating amazing value and allowing people to connect with what you are offering. I feel the same way. I can push myself out there and try to close a lot of sales, but I feel slimy doing it.

I treat people the way I want to be sold. That’s what it all comes down to for me.

    Hi Tess.
How I see this is that by choosing to believe we will attract our customers to us who are in line with who we are “meant to serve” is a good way to approach marketing. When move forward with the marketing activities with this focus, you will be less likely to be coming from a fear-based perspective. That alone, leaves you open to see more opportunities to make the “right” connections.

Beautiful and powerful post Tess. I love it when you take a stand and that stand resonates with many. This more authentic approach to marketing puts the juice of service first, right where it ought to be. Bravo!

    Tess,
What a fabulous post and point you’ve made. So many marketers use the principal of scarcity (a well known marketing technique) to illicit fear and get us to react and buy quickly before we really have a chance to think.

It is such a turn off!

I’m much more likely to buy from someone who uses a soft sell technique. It matches my nature and my vibe. If we can use the saying when the student is ready the teacher will appear – we can also say when the buyer is ready the product will appear. No need to rush and jump at these well crafted sales letters….

Thank you for this excellent post!

We’ve found EFT to be tremendously powerful. Great for helping clear away ‘stuck’ limiting beliefs. We hated it whenh we first started – seemed so silly – but we’re pretty sure it helps!

    Great Post Tess!
I’ve just recently found your Site and can definitely relate to your writings… =D
now in relation to this specific post:
I am a new blogger and my intention is to help others as I have been helped. I do not ‘charge’ for my information, guidance or experience. If I can help anyone by what I write about… then it’s been a good day.
There have been SO many who have helped me along the way, now it’s my turn to start giving back or paying it forward… =)
& if someday I happen to gain any type of monetary value from my writings – If the vibrational energy is there… then so it is.
(btw, nice commentary from Evita and Simon!)
    Love & Blessings,
